There are so many times in our lives that we say "I wish I had a camera to record this, it will never happen again" well this is one of those occasions. It was Henry's first ride at a Point to Point and I had been following his progress to the big day.

Here is the album I made for him which tells the story of his first ride.

The preparation begins.

The excitement was a bit too much for him - better out than in!!

Up the gallops for the first time - like a rocket

Several gallops later and they all return in one piece

Our next trip was to the gallops at Newmarket, very professional.

It was worth getting up so early - the schooling went well

Our next session was a bit nearer home but not without incident.

Next time no problems and he flew it.

At the races and we walked the course. I think there were a few butterflies!!

Over the first and we are in the lead.

Henry did not win his first race but went on to have several races and this season has a new horse which is really going well and he has had a couple of seconds and I am sure a win is just around the corner.

However he will never forget his First Ride and he has an album to remind him of that terrific day and he talk his grand children through "My First Point to Point".
