Allow me to elaborate, as a Northamptonshire weddings photographer who covers the entire day, it is my job to make sure that the other professionals are allowed to fulfil their obligations by getting the bride and groom to the designated points on time. Therefore, my wedding day timing service, which I provide prior to the wedding, is invaluable. The experience gained from shooting hundreds of weddings is put to good practice with the new bride.

Many of the girls have not been married before and are not fully aware of the time it takes to get ready, prepare hair, makeup and finally get into the dress for the first time on the wedding day, amid a flurry of nerves and excitement.

Once looking magnificent, it is time to take some pictures of the bride’s immediate family and bridesmaids. The shots taken at this point in the proceedings are intimate and feminine and it is not possible to replicate them at a later time in the day. There will simply be too much going on and she will be swept away with the rest of the proceedings. Time spent at this point is unique and the shots taken prior to the service are very special.

As I work with my assistant (who also photographs Northamptonshire weddings in my style), we are able to cover the boys as well as the girls before the service. Shooting the rings as well as the nervous groom and his entourage requires further organisation, before this stage of the day is culminated with the arrival of the bride on time!

It is now time for service or exchange of vows; my role is now principally that of an observer as some one else conducts the proceedings. The ceremony complete and the newlyweds are handed back to me, so that I can guide them through the rest of the afternoon.

I now balance tradition and expectation. Group photography is often cut to minimum, as the modern bride and groom do not want their entire day taken up with formal photography. I capture these shots as quickly as possible and so allow the wedding party to enjoy socialising.

With the celebrations well underway I take the bride and groom off to capture those first moments of married life. This often leads to the beautiful grounds of the reception venue in Northamptonshire weddings, though sometimes this is not practical. On those occasions when our English weather takes an intervening hand I always have a bad weather plan. In these cases I can shoot the couple indoors with the aid of my portable studio lights and, of course, my hard working assistant. It is now time for the wedding breakfast to begin; the entrance of the new couple as they take their seats for the meal is one of the desirable moments for a Northamptonshire weddings photographer to capture. Whilst I do not take pictures of the guests eating, there are still lots of detail shots of the venue, the wine and the food to capture.

The speeches are a wonderful opportunity to get those great candid shots of people relaxed. With the aid of a funny speech (peppered with few embarrassing tales of the groom!) from the best man and a long lens on my camera, I get close to get those tell tale expressions.

Now all that remains for me to do is to shoot the first dance, then my day of wedding photography Northants is done. When the images are processed I begin with the task of making a DVD slide show of all of the images taken, as well as preparing a disk of images for the Bride and Groom, which will allow them to choose the shots that they would like to have in their album.
